Today I was called by a nice girl who wanted to offer me a contract role.
I had all the experience etc.
I even explained to her what the job was!
After some time she called me back and asked for a copy of my passport!
I asked why when I hadn't even had an interview or an invitation, so I didn't know if the company was interested.
She said it was company policy to get a copy.
Again I asked why? and that I don't hand out my details willy nilly.
Let's lets take a look at this and the issues.
1. Agents are not allowed to ask your date of birth, so this is a way around the law.
2. Does an agent store the details after printing them
3. If printed does the agent have a SECURE STORAGE. From my experience in Insurance this is open to stealing details from foreign workers to sell. The insurance company lost them all and didn't report it to the FSA
4. Does the agent have a secure interent site equal to 128 bit which is equal to the Ministry of Defense.
Of course the agent fails on all of the above.
So I guess I won't be put forward, but it may give you food for thought.
I am a good Operational Risk person as well!!
