Filling up the car is expensive!!

Wife took the car out on Saturday to take our daughter for her cross country run.
Apparently she was in a rush to get back to see me.
In the rush she filled the car with petrol about STGB 65 worth.
I got a call. The car is acting funny! It's spluttering and there is loud banging.
So I said well crawl home and I will call our friendly mechanic.
So we met at the garage and our friendly man said I will look at it in a couple of hours and let you know.
Anyway I said off the cuff ' you did fill it with petrol?' and the reply ' yes you stupid pratt!'
I heard a rustle of the bag and a receipt.
'see I did fill it with unleaded petrol'
' That's alright I said, only it should have been Diesel for a diesel engine !!!'
So the mechanic trying to defuse the atmosphere said ' you will be surprised how common it is!'
Nice man
reply from the wife ' see I am not the only one!!' I am still trying to fathom out the logic.
What is even more surprising is that the wife apologized later, I am still in shock.
Our friend mentioned about insurance.
So the wife calls the Churchill insurance and explains what happened.
' Yes you are covered madam. You do know that you shouldn't have driven it at all!'
The missus said ' yes but I didn't know I put the wrong fuel in' Phew!! got him on the one, smart and quick thinking by the wife.
' you are still covered madam!'
We shall see.
Tomorrow the garage man will let us know the damage.

So with the cost of the petrol, the repair and a tank of Diesel, it's expensive.
